By participating in the “I Run Hillsborough” Race Series, you are not only meeting the challenge of running 5 local race events, but you are also showing your support for 5 local organizations aimed at making a difference in the lives of the people they serve.
Each race takes place in beautiful Hillsborough, and raises awareness and money for specific programs or organizations, and people in need. Amazing things can happen when organizations come together for one cause – to help others.
June 2nd, Hillsborough YMCA HOP
The event raises funds that help Hillsborough YMCA fulfill its mission to keep programs and services available to all, regardless of income. More Info
June 9th, St. Joe’s 5K
The event supports two programs.
BoroSAFE‘s (Suicide Awareness For Everyone) program who’s goal is to raise community awareness that suicide is preventable and resources are available. More Info
Catholic Heart Workcamp who’s mission is to share the love of Christ as we serve the neglected, brokenhearted and marginalized in any way needed. More Info
August 26th, Jason’s Run
The race is dedicated to the memory of Jason Walton, a New Jersey state champion runner from Hillsborough High School who died in 2008. All monies from registration fees and the concession stand go towards the Jason Walton Memorial Scholarship Fund, founded by Walton’s family.
September 30th, Steeplechase & Steps Together Team
The Steps Together Team will be raising funds for local families impacted by a medical crisis. Steps Together is a Hillsborough based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to inspiring our community to pay their blessings forward and support families facing a medical crisis.
Formed in 2013, the incredible support of the community has allowed Steps Together to assist more families, provide them with greater financial relief and bring awareness to the conditions that impact them. More Info
October 7th, HRC Fitness 5K
The event raises money and awareness for GiGi’s Playhouse Hillsborough which offers therapeutic programs for individuals with Down syndrome. GiGi’s Playhouse offers more than 25 therapeutic and educational programs that advance literacy, math skills, motor skills and more; all of which are free of charge. More Info

What do you receive for completing the I Run Hillsborough Race Series?
Besides the satisfaction of supporting 5 local charities, participants who run in all 5 events or are virtual* participants will receive an “I Run Hillsborough” T Shirt and a raffle ticket for a Grand Prize drawing of a 6 month individual membership to HRC Fitness or YMCA. In addition, the top Male and Female participating in the race series with the lowest (fastest) combined time from all 5K events will receive a Winners Trophy and Swag Bag.
*Virtual participants = paid registration. If you are unable to attend any of the races, but want to be a part of “I Run Hillsborough”, you can simply sign up as a virtual participant and run/walk at your leisure. Virtual or actual participation in the 5 events offers you the ability to take part in this great community challenge and entry into the grand prize drawing.
